ISES Austin Represents at Texas Star Awards

On Feb. 9, members of ISES Austin traveled to San Antonio for the Texas Star Awards and brought back with them a handful of impressive awards!

ISES Austin received the award for “Best Industry or Association Event or Monthly Meeting”  for it’s Annual Awards Gala last June. The Gatsby-themed gala suggested a gin-soaked, jazz-syncopated, frivolous evening. From a charming garden party to an opulent banquet and a sexy speakeasy, guests were immersed in 20’s culture from start to finish. Girls were in short dresses with low waistlines and long strings of pearls around their necks. Men donned vests under their jackets and hats on their heads. It was the highlight of the season – a gathering of who’s who in event society.

Texas Poker Supply won Best Entertainment Event with a budget of 25k-75k for a fundraiser held at The Driskill Hotel for Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas in November 2013. More than 250 guests participated in a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament in just 4 hours to raise over $100,000 for the organization. Texas Poker Supply brought in branded poker tables with sponsor logos on each along with ten cocktail girls dressed as cigar girls straight from the 20’s!

The Simplifiers brought home two awards this year from San Antonio! Their first award was for Best Corporate Event with a Budget of 75k-200k for their MRY SXSW Party 2013. If you missed out on the lavish event, you can watch a video of it here.

The Simplifiers also won Best Wedding with a Budget Under 75k for Nancy & Justin’s Wedding at Star Hill Ranch. Every handcrafted detail of the wedding was executed to perfection by The Simplifiers, earning them their second TSA Award. Congratulations to the entire Simplifiers team for both of their awards!

Brass Tacks Events won Best Social Event Under $75k  for “Rachel and Ellie’s Seussville”, a B’not Mitzvah for twin girls with a Dr. Seuss theme. This 200-person event was held in the ballroom at the Westin Austin at the Domain. The party was primarily geared towards children, with adults invited to join in the fun and be entertained with more adult-focused décor and menu. The classic storyteller Dr. Seuss was the icon of the evening with a fun, quirky event design developed around his stories and wacky, colorful illustrations. Congratulations to Kevin Molesworth and his hard-working team for pulling off an amazing event!

Not only is our ISES Austin Chapter growing in size, but we are also growing in talent. Keep it up ISES members, you rock!
